Most other interview preparation and coaching materials are developed by consultants with no or very limited actual recruiting and interviewing experience. The Peakline Careers coaching concept is developed by experienced consulting professionals and senior interviewers who have driven real hiring decisions and climbed through the ranks at MBB. We teach you exactly how to think and communicate to ace the interviews, rather than giving you one-size-fits-all solutions or frameworks that do not work anymore.
A MBB Senior Recruiter / Interviewer is a long-standing member of the recruiting team that has conducted a vast amount of interviews and has taken independent hiring decisions.

Generally, the recruiting team at MBB firms is selective. Before becoming an interviewer the companies conduct performance background checks on the respective Consultants. Once accepted, Consultants initially only listen in while more advanced Interviewers conduct the interview. In a next step, younger Interviewers assess candidates during the second round of interviews as those consist of multiple interviews and, hence, multiple opinions are taken into consideration.

Senior Interviewers move on to conducting first round interviews where they are solely responsible for assessing the candidate as only one interview is conducted.

Vincent and Sebastian have each been part of the recruiting team for 4 years and conducted 500+ interviews combined.
We offer both. Sebastian has been a senior interviewer for the German system while Vincent was active in Switzerland. We know the recruiting processes for these markets very well. We have also coached many candidates from other systems such as the UK, the US, UAE and Asia. Our Online Compendium is in English.
Once you schedule a free-of-charge introduction call with us, we will use that call to get to know each other. That usually takes around 15 minutes, and we will discuss your individual situation, your objectives and our offering. No decisions are taken during this call. We will both have the chance to think about a potential collaboration — and if it feels like a match for both sides, we can take the next steps together.
We offer an integrated coaching program that will get you ready no matter where you currently stand. If you are in the process of applying, we will first design the right application strategy and optimize your materials. For concrete interview preparation, we start with an in-depth diagnostics call — a minimum 90-minute session testing your current abilities across case and personal fit, based on the actual assessment criteria that MBB use. From there, we develop a personalized roadmap guiding you through what you need to learn and when. For on-the-job training, we start with an onboarding call, followed by access to our Compendium plus at least one 1:1 session prior to your job start.
You get access to a detailed database of our condensed knowledge from 20+ years of industry experience — everything you need to secure an offer and succeed on the job. For interview coaching: case archetypes and structuring, personal storylining, differences in interviewing at different Consulting firms, business judgment, case math, and business fundamentals. For on-the-job training: practical know-how on slidewriting, Excel essentials, top-down communication, stakeholder management, and many other topics.
In our experience, interview preparation is a skill best learned with highly qualified and tailored feedback. Peers or books will never give you the level of guidance that a former senior interviewer with hundreds of real-life interviews can. Initially picked up bad habits are difficult to unlearn, so getting it right from the start is very valuable. Once you have established a strong foundation, we actively encourage high-quality peer practice — preferably with peers from our selected community.
It all depends on your personal goals and where you currently stand. For career orientation, getting in touch early during your studies is advisable so we can develop the optimal path towards your dream career, including internship selection. For interview preparation, starting at least 6–12 weeks prior to your interviews will guarantee the best results. If your interviews are coming up shortly, we can adjust our approach and get you ready sooner. For on-the-job mentoring, it makes sense to start prior to your first day — but you can also contact us while already working.
Absolutely. Vincent himself comes from a non-business background and has had a very successful career at BCG. Within our detailed Online Compendium, we have a separate section for non-business background candidates teaching the most important business concepts and metrics to ace the interviews.
Of course. Sebastian is a Lateral Hire himself, having joined BCG after working in Banking (Corporate M&A) for three years. The Lateral Hire process is essentially very similar to the traditional recruitment process but has a few very important differences — especially developing your personal storyline and conveying your motivation for Consulting becomes much more important. The same applies for MBA candidates. Your previous work experience and your decision to pursue an MBA need to be integrated coherently into your desire to work in Consulting.
